Default changing tranny or rebuilt tranny?

alright....my automatic tranny on my 97 accord is done gone and overwith. I'm debating whether I should just put in a tranny pulled from a junkyard or have a rebuilt tranny. Changing the tranny from a junkyard will be about 1,200 for everything and a rebuilt tranny will be 1,300. So my question is, which one will be more reliable? which one will last me longer in the long run? thanks

mmmmmmm 1300 dollars for a rebuilt tranny??? that sounds way, way too cheap for a 97 accord ..........If u plan on keeping the car for a long haul i would install a rebuilt trany, make sure u get at least 1 year warranty, ,,but again 1300 dollars makes me wonder how good a job they did rebuilding it .. did they use reliable parts ?? or got the parts from Walmart blue lite special or was that k-mart ??

Agreed, if my experiences with GM were any indication; GM would pay a dealership (at Warranty Rates (and you guys in the business know what THAT means)) close to $1400.00 just to overhaul a TH125 (FWD) Transmission, $1700.00 for a TH700R4 (RWD)!!
I think he's been low-balled.
