Default Baffled oil pan... Necessary???

I am thinking about a baffled oil pan for my motor as extra insurance.

I was wondering whether it is worth the trouble or not for a primarily street driven car with infrequent albeit aggressive track use.

Has anyone tried to weld baffles in the stock pan themselves? Just wondering because the price tag of $250 for a Mugen pan seems high.

TIA

infrequent-aggressive track use? You will be fine without it. Those people who often runs their cars during open track days locally (buttonwillow, willow springs...), seems to do fine without one. No complaints.

Welding your own baffles? yeah LS has done it, improved the design of the Mugen pan as well.

For Street - Not needed
For Track use, I would suggest it dependant on how much track time the car sees. If you go to the track alot go for it, If you go once in awhile don't bother, unless you feel like buying it.

If you are good at making sure you have enough oil. then no. hehe

I use one as an "extra" precaution, and it was no hassle at all to install.

moroso is good too.
Extra volume helps keep the oil cooler, and its baffled.
