Default Refinishing Nice rims

I've got some 17" Volks that need to be refinished. One rim has 2 major bends, the other has 1 bend and slight curb rash. I really cant afford 2 new volks, and i dont want to send these away to just anybody. I was looking into one place online, but it seemed like they only do OEM wheels and whatnot, and they said they take them down to the bare finish and repaint/polish them. That concerned me, because then how would they match the color to the other volks, and volk stickers are expensive. If you guys have had any volks refinished before, or could recommend someone, i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

if i were u i would send em out. wheel repair is pretty archaic anyways. they basically press em straight using a huge press.

then they go ahead and machine polish it. the wheels will then have no clearcoat.

if you are looking to refinish them you gotta have some comprimises.

otherwise you are looking at buying new wheels.

i think it helps if we knew what wheel you had but i highly doubt if you can get it back to 100% perfect. a prime example are polished lips. there is no paint, just bare metal, but techniques vary.

That's what the really good wheel refinish/repair shops do - they take the wheel down to bare metal and then repaint/polish them. They really DO make them look just like new (and just like your other rims).
