I believe this has been done by a user, I can't remember his name though. Try PMing Litterbox, he did a GSR dash into his EG I'm sure he would have ideas on the EK/EG install.

Dammit...this topic is always so confusing. i know another guy who claims the actual dash fits like a charm (with some adjustment to the holding bracket) even the doors close correctly. he's got his friends spare EK dash from an integra dash swap, which he tried out on his EG. i was skeptical but as i reseached more, analysed hundreds of dash photos, inside door panels photos and other interior photos, i started believing him. i was going to order in my EK dash new (coz i can't find one at the wreckers) but i keep getting mixed responses on wether it would fit or not.

I'd put a DC dash in my EG, that would look better IMO. The EK dash has no clock!

that's you, NOT him
EVERYONE knows the DC dash into an EH (stop calling them eg's..this ain't japan) is easy as well.

i haven't seen an EJ dash into an EH yet...but, we have 5 hatches at the shop of all different years, so we might get bored and try it and see how it goes

i think everyone knows that eg's ar eh and ek are ej's but its the incorrect lazy way to connect jdm vins to usdm. alot of noobs dont know about the whole eh, ej thing. even though you are correct. Im guilty of the whole eg, ek thing
either way let me know if you guys try the dash swap. I only have dsm's here at our shop right now

One guy stripped the vinyl of his eg interior door panel so he could modify to fit a teggy dash. altho not a civic-civic dash swap, its a good pic of the shape of the eg dash indentation.

EG interior door panel;

EK interior door panel;

Heres some more motivating pics to get more ppl on the same boat.

EG dash;

EK dash;

After doing a 99-00 Civic Climate Control Conversion to my old 98 Civic, I can give some "Theories" on the 96-98 Climate control into an EG.

See, the 99-00 climate control is electrical, so that makes things a lot more complicated as far as wiring is concerned. The 96-98 climate control is cable operated (like the EG), so if I were to attempt this swap, I'd go 96-98 dash.

I think you would have to swap out "at least" the heater-core box (possibly the AC and fan blower box if the stock EG AC box doesn't line up with the EK heater core).

Behind the dash of an EK:

(these pictures were taken from other threads btw, and are not mine)

Behind the dash of an EG:

Notice the obvious differences in the shape/size/angle of vents of the different heater core boxes (for those who don't know, the heater core box is the one closest to the steering wheel).

And as far as I know, you'd have to get fancy with mounting the EK heater-core to the inner EG firewall, because I'm "assuming" it won't just bolt in.

I was giving this swap some thought in the past, and might try to attempt it in the future. Hopefully what I've added helps a little.

Hey dude, thanks for the usefull pics. i didn't hav any ek ones so thanks again!
i noticed the eg behind dash pic has had the fan blower exchanged for an integra one. im guessing the guy took the photo b4 he put the teggy dash in aka: it has allready been modified (fan blower at least, i dont kno how to recognise other parts well enough yet) so its no longer a stock eg.
i only know this because a guy called litterbox gave me heeps of info in my old post.

EG fan blower;

Integra fan blower for teggy dash swaps;

ill just repost ur ek behind dash pic for easy comparison

EG behind dash;

EK behind dash;

as u can see, apart from differences (easily fixable) here and there, it's more than similar. im luvin it so far.

No, you're 90% because you probably post unintelligent comments and are mainly just a waste of space on Honda-Tech. Do us all a favor and leave. Thanks.

I think this would be a fun little swap to do, if you do decide to do it.. Please provide us with a write-up.

To my knowledge it has not been done, and ive posted this topic many times in various forums. Its really surprising tho...i mean, ive seen ppl put ITR dashes in CRXs. this job is childsplay compared to that and best of all, it's not a full ricer job either. i think the swap should be able to yield a professional look, making my car more stylish and expensive too. bling!
im planning to keep everything else simple and clean, sharp and shiny, altho not stock. as for dash swaps, for some reason most ppl seem to be set in an 'all or nothing' mind frame. if its not as good looking as ITR dash, its not worth swapping anything at all. i on the otherhand have learnt to settle, but now i actually prefer an EK dash than a teggy.
