questions on 93 accord transmission
we bought my son a 93 accord to drive to school. It's an automatic transmission. Car runs real good except for two things.
1- accelerating from a stop it shifts thru all the gears good and locks up the toruqe converter. Then soon as I reach speed and let up on the gas pedal it seems as thou the converter will unlock as the tach jumps back up 300rpm. Now if I go ahead and push the gas pedal down some more or climb a steep hill it will lock up again and then unlock as soon as my speed levels off. I changed the fluid in the transmission but that didn't seem to help. What would cause this?
2- once I've reached cruise speed and maintain it the car will feel like it's missing out. Almost like it's got a fuel restriction problem. It's not a bad miss like a cylinder down but more like a very dirty fuel filter problem. I've replaced the filter on the firewall but it didn't help. any ideas on what this could be?
thanks for the help

sounds like u got what is called torque converot hunting....i would have a shop chk the tranny cable adjustment to start with
if you are feeling the torque converter locking and unlocking at speeds around 50-60 mph under a light throttle it is fairly normal. If you adjust the throttle/pressure cable too tight you'll never get lockup.
The other problem might be EGR ports getting plugged up, you could try 'power braking' the car up thru 1700 rpms to see if there is an engine stumble.
