Well i got a free d16z6 short block with scared up sleeves; .25 overbore should remove the marks. Anyways i want this to be a budget build. Heres the set up i was thinking of.
BLOCK:
Block posting (endyne). i actually wanted to do this on my last build, but i was to scared i was going to ruin a gsr block.
.25 oversize d16z6 pistons or .40 over suzuki vitara pistons (next size up is .40, remember stock bore as small like scratches and honing will not get them out)
hasting or nippon rings (nippon is cheaper, but im leaning towards hasting)
ACL bearings
ARP rod bolts
stock d16z6 rods or TunerToys rods (if they are in stock and if funds are avalible)
HEAD:
d16z6 head we have laying around
Street turbo port and polish head
stock valvetrain, cam, and cam gear
d16y8 intake manifold if i get a hold of one for a good price
GSR throttle body we have laying around
ARP Headstuds if i dont find some z6 studs
FEW QUESTIONS:
1. is .40 over ok for turbo?
2. stock valve train good enough? i've seen no lots of people running turbo with stock valvetrain
3. is a Y8 head recommended?
I will be tuning with uberdata v.166 since i have everything already
LET ME KNOW IF IM MISSING ANYTHING!!! remember this is a budget build and im not in a rush to build it. i will do a whole write up on everything when the building starts. i also snapped some pictures of the engine and head, but i forgot to bring the camera home.

dont go with the .4 over pistons thats roughly 10mm the cylinder walls would be so thin, and .25 over is still massive (6mm), i think you want to go with .020 over which would make the 75mm sleeves 75.5mm, since they are stock sleeves, if it were sleeved max i would go would be 78mm. i builtmy d16 if you have any other question hit me up

thanks i guess i will have to go with different pistons then. i had a feeling .40 was on the thin side
what about nippon pistons on ebay? they are .20 over

they arent .20 over they ar .020 over or 20 thousands over .20 over would be a huge bore still, you jsut want to remove the scaring and ridges, .020 should do that...
