My 1995 accord radiator fan is not working and engine is running a little warm. The fuse, relay and wires seem to be in good repair and working. Any thoughts as to what else I should check or a way to test and see if the fan is broken. any input appreciated, thanks. The fan used to run after I shut the car off sometimes, it never does that anymore.

which fan is not working?? both fans are supposed to come on,,, the 1 on passanger side is the main cooling fan , the 1 on the driver side is the a/c condensor fan........try something......whichever fan is not working try hitting the back side with a big screwdriver or metal object see if it comes on, if it does u got a bad motor,, if it does not, u need to chk if you are getting power and ground at motor connector plug ,, use a test lite .........if u got both , motor is no good, if you don't get power , it could be a fuse, relay, wiring.........
if both fans are not working,,,,,,,,,put the a/c on see if they work ,,if they do ,but don't work when car is warm , most likely u got a bad fan sitch , it is located on the t-stat housing ... .try these tests and post results........

They both work when the a/c is on......Should they both run all the time????? When a/c was off none of them were running. Is there a thermostat involved with this cooling system somewhere?Maybe there is another reason my car is running hot? Clogged radiator or something. if they both work with a/c on then we now know that motors, fuses, relays wiring is all ok,,,,,,,,,,,
yes there is a thermostat, now start car up and let it warm up do not put a/c on,,,,,when engine is warm the lower radiator hose should feel hot , not as hot as the top hose but it should feel hot, if it feels cool, that means the thermostat is stuck closed,, t-stat is located at the end of lower radiator hose ......if the hose feels hot then on the t-stat housing there is a plug with 2 wires going to it, that is the cooling fans switch , it senses coolant temp and makes the fans come on ,,anyho, if t-stat is ok, unplug it and jump the 2 wires together if fans come on u got a bad switch ..........by the way first off make sure u got planty of coolant in radiator ,, ,try and post results.....

Bottom hose is definately cool, I let it run for about 5 minutes. Having trouble accessing the thermostat wires, car is lowered. I eill jack it up tomorrow , as I have to go to work now. Does this mean I need a new thermostat or switch?
