Default Question about automatic to manual swap

I have a 92 hatch that has been converted from automatic to manual. The only problem is the engine is sittin' sideways. Right now I am just running a D16. I was told that there is a mount that needs to be changed or welded in a different place. I also heard that there are aftermarket mounts that you can buy for this and I was wondering where ican find these mounts. Thanks in advance.

need to either drill out the spot welds on the pass. side mount (frame rail) and reweld them in the correct spot or you can buy the "conversion" mount from HASport. http://hasport.com/catalog/pro...d=115

I used an air hammer with the chizzle bit. If you start in the area that isn't seem welded, them the mount will come off like a hot knife through butter. After all the other mounts(including the torqu mounts) are installed, just put the tranny mount in place with a jack supporting the tranny, make sure there is even load between the mounts by using a leveler. Then place the frame rail mounts around the tranny mount and tack it in. Remove the tranny mount and weld it up the rest of the way. Takes about 45 mins tops.

I haven't tried this myself but I was looking at a buddy who had this same issue and thought about this and in theory it should work. You could unbolt the tranny mount, level the motor with a jack, remove the studs from the tranny, and just use spacers and or washers to fill the gapbetween the mount and the tranny, when you get the right spacing just find 3 tranny bolts and use them to replac ed the studs. Worth a try.
