Default Getting new tires, what size?

I am getting new tires, I am wondering what would be better to get 175/70/13s or 185/70/13s? These are the only options, has anyone made this change?

The 185s are going to be wider and taller, effectively making your car a tiny bit more grippy, but slower. Your call. I haven't bought tires for a 13 inch rim before.

I thought that that would be the outcome. I think I'll stick with the 175s.

Thanks.

i say that you need to get some good rims say 17s and get a 205 at the least.

I'd get the 185's. The sacrifice of acceleration for traction is worth it IMO.

I have Yokohama AVID T4's 185/70/13 for 2 years now, and they're really cheap tires at about $43 per tire. But they grip better than any other ALL WEATHER tire in that size range imo.

Always get the widest tire that can reasonably fit on your wheel. It's better for handling and breaking, as well as accellerating traction, so a wider tire could make you a bit faster since you won't be sitting at the line doing a burnout, then chirping second (and probably third). Although, in a 175 vs 185 battle, I don't think anyone will walk away impressed Just don't step all the way up to 195 on your stock wheels unless you just can't get the tire you want in anything smaller (e.g. Azenis)

The original poster is inquiring about tire options in the 13" range. 15" tire choices would obviously require buying 15" wheels which i think isn't an option for the thread starter.
