Any Pro or Cons about running new wiring for the headunit in car?
Any pros or cons about running new power, memory, ground, speaker wire in a car? I noticed some wiring is around 20 gauge wiring. Just wondering just make sure u put a inline fuse off the power supply if already not supplied.
thanks in advance.
thanks in advance.
i see nothing wrong with it other than being a waste of time. i have never had to make my own wiring for a car.

</TD></TR></TABLE> Nothing wrong with it but realy no need to except for the 12V+ constant power, [normaly yellow] if it is a "high power" HU and you are using the HUs amp.
If so, the best thing to do is run a fused 10ga or 12ga wire from the batt. to behind the HU and connect the yellow to it, [don't forget the cap off the oem 12V+ constant power wire] just like you would wire power for an amp, you will also need to "beef up" the ground on the HU, but here connect the ground up normaly and add a 10ga or 12ga ground from the chassis of the HU, [use the backbrace mount bolt on the Hu for the ground, and ground the other end to a good ground point as close to the HU as possible, [again just like you would an amp].
All the other wires you need, acc., illumination, speakers and power ant. [if you have one] are fine, no point in adding a bunch of unneeded wires.
