Default bought bike/need opinions

On August 15th I looked at a R6 which was for sale. By August 23rd I had a bill of sale written up and a depost of $500.00 on it until we got the title work done. About three day's later I got a call saying that it may be another two weeks because the lein wasn't released properly by the dealer. I have yet to receive the bike and it is almost a month later. I sold my bike to purchase this one and miss riding greatly. So my question is what would you do? I called the guy tonight and said that either I get the title by Monday or I want my deposit back. Opinions please/thanks.

get your desposit back and buy something else. Hopefully he lives in the same city as you and you didn't wire him money through an escrow service in Nigeria.
I wouldn't trust a guy who is making empty promises.

Banks are usually pertty good about releasing leins. He spent your $500 on beer, gambling, and hookers. Get your money back.

Go take the bike!

He's out there beating on it for the rest of the season while you pay in-season price, for a bike you don't recieve till storage time.

to that guy.

You should be able to take the bike and have it temp tagged for the rest of the season if the only problem is releasing the lien on the loan. It's an option if you are willing to write a certified check to him/his lien holder. But if he is already being shady, it may be best to get the deposit back and tell him a deadline on getting everything squared away.

i'd go get your $500 deposit back and wait until he has the title or just go out and look for another R6. R6s are a dime a dozen, so you shouldn't have too much trouble looking for another one.

The reason I waited so long is b/c this one has 776 miles. It's 6400.00 which is fair I suppose. At any rate I called the guy this afternoon and if no title by Monday I'm getting my deposit back. Maybe I'll by a Duc. Monster.
