little turd looking cracks all over my hood...

Default little turd looking cracks all over my hood...
hey guys,

ever since i bought my car ive had these little weird cracks all over the hood. its very fine near the end, then they gradually get bigger



every time i wash my car, it pisses me off. what causes this? is there anything i can do about it? or do i need to get a replacement hood?

It's called craising (sp?) and it's pretty difficult - nigh impossible - to get rid of without stripping the hood down to metal and repainting it. The cracks are like "structural breakdowns" within the paint molecules and you can't just sand them out at the surface and respray it.

do you know what causes it exactly? heat?

i had that **** all over the hood of one of my coupes. the only thing that KINDA hides it is that black turtle wax.

6 years ago my moms accord did that.. at only 40 thousand.. she took it in and made them repaint it... it looks like someone was washing the car with a ring on and hit the hood a bit
