Default GC/koni or RSR exhaust ?

K well, i've been low on money and I have enough to either get GC/koni set up or an RSR exhaust. Right now I have intake, headers and clutch. Which would you guys suggest I buy as of right now, the GC/koni or the RSR exhaust, I really can't decide because I know I need both, but what would you do if you know had money for one set up right now.

DAMN!!! thats a hard choice... but I always go for a lowered car with nice handling before any speed parts.

Really? Is that why all RSR exhaust are on back order? Is it because they are making a new design, so do you think I should wait until the new design comes out ?

Most definitely GC/Koni, there's not much better out there for $800 (and nobody better mention Tein, you don't get near the options on the entry level Tein setups as you do with GC's).

Plus it's going to make WAYYY more of a difference in the feel of the car and the "fun-to-drive-ness" of the car than some ol' exhaust system would, I guarantee that.

yeah that's the setup I used to have, just my stiff@$$ springs got pretty annoying on my 100-mile daily commute, so I sold the GC's and put the stock springs on my Konis. It still handles pretty well with the ITR rear sway and shocks set to stiff.

The GC/Koni would be a better buy IMO. Not only is the difference going to be noticeable with the new suspension setup, but it's going to be a lot more fun to drive as well.

sorry i voted for suspension b/c RS*R exhaust is pretty much a prettier slightly more powerful stock exhaust. $$$/HP = > $100/HP, and that's a pretty sh!tty ratio. i don't think i'll ever spend $100/HP. and besides, adjustable dampers (struts, in this case) are worth their weight in gold with any decent spring!

Agreed, driving on stock height with all the body roll feels like crap...

Suspension first, I only got the RS*R because it was on clearance back in the day. Not worth the price it costs now IMO.

no

It's probably be alot more fun to drive, though.

Exhaust makes a little noise, whoopee

Suspension helps the car hold the road better and go faster around corners.

You be the judge.

exactly, let's get this straight. the RS*R exmag is worth little more than the time it takes to put on the car. if i got one for free for a car that didn't already have about ANY other make exhaust, i might put it on. or maybe i'd try to sell it NIB and never put it on. but still i'd pick dampers and springs over any exhaust. just saying on an N/A car that's still stock, an exhaust isn't worth beans.

i mean, exhaust was the first performance mod on my nissan, but your honda won't gain 20whp/15ft*lbs from an exhaust like my nissan did. apples and oranges.

yes it's worth the money. much better than comparable coilovers, yes it's very streetable (depends on GC spring rates though) and yes it's trackable. obviously not a real track *****, but it will feel pretty good on the track.

i didnt like the feel of the GC's on my CRX, they felt like the suspension was never sitting right, like the springs were always floating, they were installed right. i was running them with AGX's, had it dumped at first, rode like **** (obviously), raised it up to about a 1.75" drop, still rode like crap, switched to progress auto springs on the AGX's, never looked back. my friend recently got progress auto coilovers for his CRX........good christ, now THERE is a smooth ride

i'd have to agree here. 1) lowering sucks for ride and performance. bouncy bouncy ride, and not enough damper stroke = infinite spring rate right when you want that the least. 2) i don't like coilover conversions like CG and such. i'd rather have a full spring (at full height or near full height, too, so it doesn't ever top out on the crests of hills and such)

thats exactly how i feel, i like spring/shock combo's for the street, a full coilover suspension is nice also. i wanna swap out what i have on my teg (the guy who owned it before me put this stuff on), he put some cheap coilover sleeves on the car and some GR-2's. im hoping the GR-2's are still in good shape so i can just buy springs and have it just how i want it.
