Default exhaust leak, can I weld?

My lude has an exhaust leak at the catalytic converter at both ends. I have replaced the gaskets twice, even doubled up the gasket the second time to see if this would work and still no luck.

I have a greddy SS header, universal cat, and greddy cat-back exhaust.

Would it be ok if I welded the system at the catalytic converter connection? Any problems with flexing, or the lack of?

I got to get this fixed.

thanks
Mike

Makes me think that it is not leaking from the gasket area, unless the flanges got beat to hell. Welding would work, just remember that once it's done the only way to fix it is to cut it out. Might see if you can see if it is split/broke on the top or something were you can't really see it first though.

Yeah I haven't had the whole system off the car yet. I plan on doing that, and if all looks good I may just weld it up. The cat is brand new so , I hope i won't be needing to take it off soon.
