Default Air Conditioning Gurus...Need Help!!!

i just had my air conditioning (95 dx) changed out by a shop. New Sanden compressor, OEM condenser, OEM hose, non-honda dryer and expansion valve. Everything is brand new and the AC tech that installed everything cannot figure out the problem. The Air is not blowing cold. The temperature is like around 80 degrees! It's hard to believe the compressor or the condenser has anything to do with it because it is so new but i could be wrong. the tech thinks that it is the expansion valve. the valve is a non-honda part (Advanced Auto Parts) but since it is also new, could it cause the problem? i have no idea what else can be done. please help. Thanks

What are the high and low side pressures? Do they flucuate at all? Do the needles bounce eradically? There is alot more information that I need to even begin to guess what the problem might be.

did you check the two pressure sensors to see if they are closed IE: zero resistance?

one under the glovebox and one on the driver side of the condensor (enginebay).

Possibly a blend door is stuck the the heat position. Does the air get hotter if you move the dial to heat?

A mechanic installed this, it is brand new, I would hope, beinga mechanic myself, that it was all checked over.

yes the air does get hotter as i move the dial. do you think if i change the non-honda expansion valve to a honda part would fix the problem? Also, do i need to change out the evaporator because i did not and yes a mechanic is doing all the work. thanks

I don't see the point in changing the parts out if they are not bad. I'm sure that the tech will be able to find the problem, it may take a little while depending on what it is (trust me, I have been in his shoes) but he will find it.

i couldn't wait any longer so i went to honda and got an expansion valve for him to replace. The non-honda valve must have been defected or something. The air is cooler now but it's not cold. it's not even cold when i drive in the rain. i am expecting it to be cold when i turn it on. The tech said he got the air to come down to 55 degress but it does not feel like it. Does the compressor and other parts need to be broken in for it to be colder? thanks

did you check the temp of the air yourself?

if it doesnt get cold bring it back might possible have a leak?

it should drop down to the 40's on a cool day

It should be in the mid to low 40s on a pretty hot day. I wouldn't expect to see 55 unless it were over 100 outside.

55 is NOT a good tepmerature for a functioning a/c system. Don't even try to say that it is, Ford just bought back a lincoln ls from a customer because it would not drop below 48 on a hot day. A brand new a/c system I would expect to see temps reaching into the high 30 range on a hot day and on a cool day I wouldn't even want to turn it on.

i will check the temp tomorrow. it is really bothering me..i spent alot of money on this system. Hurricane Rita is a bitch right now too. my car still has the stock ecu because it still has the stock motor. hopefully, it is not a major problem. i will get back to yall when i check the temp. thanks

***Edit: i drove on the interstate and got the air to blow 54 degrees, the lowest. i will take it back to the shop. is there a possibility of a leak? or some other problem. thanks
