2000 Civic LX Sedan with Moonroof??
I searched - a lot.. I can't seem to find this as an option but a car i'm checking out has one. It has an OEM switch and looks OEM. I just can't seem to find it as being optional on that year/model.. anyone know for sure? Or can point me to some info?
I don't believe it was, but I can't confirm that.
Many times customers want options that are not available. Perhaps this is one of those cases.
The dealership contracts local shops to install these add ons like alarms, moonroofs, stereos etc. The shop will install everything and use an OEM switch to activate it.
Just check the components, seals and glass to make sure it's decent quality. Also look to see if the glass has a honda logo and information in the corner of it, that would hint at it being a factory option... or the install composed of factory materials.

No, its not. Honda doesn't have 'options' persay; just different models and dealer installed accessories. The LX doesn't have a roof, but someone could have installed one.
EDIT: beat me to it.

It's possible that someone did a real good job with the install. Does it have power windows too? Cruise Control?
I would check the engine code, you may be looking at an EX sedan. In which case you could buy it for the price of an LX

I haven't gotten to see the car in person yet just the pics.. the door handles/sideskirts are black - so LX.. Didn't get a good shot of the engine bay to spot the ABS or VTEC solonoid.. but yea.. the moonroof looks factory.. Has power windows/locks/cc

There WERE some options in different places. There was a LX with ABS, a LX with factory A/C, and maybe its like a....LX SE with a moonroof, that was like limited production.

Side Door moldings. Not the side skirts, the side skirts were black on all models except the Si.
That was actually an excellent point I forgot to mention, check the side door moldings.
both the Ex and Lx can have abs.
