questions on final gear on the h22

I made a thread about this a while ago however about an f-series 5th gear as it is longer than the h23 by a lot. You can supposidly swap an h23 5th gear into an h22, and an f-series 5th gear into an h23, but you cannot swap an f-series 5th gear into an h22. However, I am having it machined down to fit correctly.

same as f-series
probably around 150-160mph. But why do you need to go that fast? I'm using it for gas mileage

Someone needs to start making really long 5th gears for h22 trannies. You could probably make a pretty good amount off of them, even if they're just redone F tranny gears.

You are right. I always thought they were the same.
Why does my car run at the same RPM as my H23 did at speed? At 60mph, both trannies revved at 3K rpm........70mph at 3500rpm.

Different final drive ratios.
4th gen Si VTEC FD: 4.27:1
4th gen Si FD: 4.43:1
Also, can someone point me to a calculator that takes a gear ratio, FD ratio, tire size, and engine RPM and turns it into land speed? That'd be pretty useful.
If not a calculator, some sort of formula sheet and I could make a calculator app for it.

the only thing i can think of is that on a vtec tranny, the actual speed is slightly lower than what the speedo says (compared to the h23 tranny).
i think it's kind of the same affect as if you were to put smaller diameter tires on: actual speed would be lower than what the gauge says due to a change in final drive ratio.
the only other thing i can think of is that when you down in the lower/taller gears the small difference between these 2 isn't enough to tell. in the lower gears with higher numbers, you definitely notice the difference.
this is just my opinion. anybody else?

Sorry to be a newb about the fianl gear but when you mention the numbers b/t the H23 and H22 is the larger # mean a longer gear or opposite. thanks.
