Default Em1 rear bumper fitment issue.

When I bought my car the bumper was just like this. Never really looked into fixing it but since I am selling the car now , I gotta take care of it. It seems to like that one of the screws or something is loose.

I have the same problem actually, but it's on the drivers side. The bumper won't stay up on that white tab, you can see it in the picture. I honestly don't know why. I've taken off my bumper a couple times to try and fix it and I haven't figured it out yet.

the tab's might be worn, so they are not keeping the bumper in place. Just replace them, they should be mere pennies...

Just becasue I'm in the buisness, it seems funny to me that most ppl don't bother to clean or fix things on thier cars untill they are getting rid of them. kinda dumb.

The screw being loos there would not cause that problem. Tighten it up and you should see almost no difference.

The problem is the bumper is warped slightly. This is very common on 96-00 civics, being in the heat all day causes that area to warp a bit causing a gap.
Try taking a heat gun to it, carefully not to burnish the paint, and heat the area up a bit. Apply pressure to keep it in place and let it cool back down slowly.
I can be very annoying to fix, but with patience and time I have seen it done.

I have the same problem on 2 sides. One front bumper the other in the back. The white clip gets worn and the hole it goes through gets bent. I went to Home Depot and picked up a bolt, nut, 2 larger washers and a locking washer. Installed on one side and problem fixed! Just be gentle when you screw it in or you'll tear the metal clip hole. I have to JB weld one of the holes now. Very simple job though.

Back to life...Has anyone found a way to fix this other than heating up the bumper and trying to warp it back into place? I plan on working on this tomorrow.
