Removing Headlight Reflector
Im gonna paint my headlight bezels this weekend and was wondering what the effects would be if i took out the headlight bulb reflector. i know the jdm headlights on ek's had this done but im not sure what the glare would be like and if it would create problems???
any help would be great and if you have pics post em up.

If you mean the little triangular shaped piece on 99-00 headlights, it might look kind of funny. On 96-98 headlights though it might work. Give it a shot and see.
im talkin about the reflector piece that goes around the bulb its self. when its removed you will be able to see the entire bulb. i dont want to take it out if its gonna do something that will affect the lighting.
anyone else????
anyone else????
You would definately get ALOT of glare. The JDM headlights (EK CTR's) have no shield because they use a different bulb (H4H) that do not need a shield. The bulbs we use for USDM headlights require a shield.
I doubt it would be a good idea based on the construction of the headlight assembly itself. It is designed so that the bulb reflects back toward the "chrome" part and then outward. If you remove the reflector over the bulb, more than half the light will just be spilled out without any direction (glare). Your light ouput will be significantly reduced.
