Front bumper support
A friend of mine just had his front bumper and support ripped off while he was in school, the guys insurance payed him $1000, I told him he is better off just getting somthing aftermarket and saving the dough. Question is, do you have to keep the support or will the bumper sag if it not there? Can the bumper suppport be removed from a junked car? I know its not really "tech" related but if anyone would know the answer it would be H-T. Thanks in advance
Technically, I suppose you don't need the bumper support... but the bumper will sag without it. Its also probably not very safe without one, they did put it there for a reason.
The front bumper support is very necessary. It protects the radiator(s) from damage during any front end collision. If you don't have the support and rear-end someone, or someone hits you head-on, you're probably totalled. Don't forget that it's an integral part of the chassis, and you will experience much wheel hop. I know that from experience.
