Will a h23 ecu work w/a f22 motor?
Hey guys, i was wondering whether anyone knows whether an h23 ecu be the same as the f22?, cause i saw a chip for sale (on ebay of course) for an h23 and was wondering whether someone would know whether it'll work or not for the f22, cause that's what i have.
Well i'm trying to get a little bit of extra hp, since i don't have enough for h23/h22, well maybe if i would've saved up, but can't anymore cause school is coming.
It's a waste of money. If I was in your shoes, and I was, I would save your money and buy worthwhile mods. These chips are a joke. Placebo mods.
F22 is not the best platform for NA. If you must mod it, get I/H/E and call it a day. You really can't squeeze much out of the F22.
I had an H23 and instead of modding it I decided to save all my money and do it right the first time. H22 was the plan. It was the best bang for the buck and I have no regrets.

Well i already have I/H/E, and well i guess you're right most chips on ebay are a joke, i know it'll be worth it if i did save for the h22. But for now i'm sticking with my f22 for a single cam is not that bad JUst trying to see what i can do w/it, which you most likely would think is a waste, well at least for now i have my f series, but i'm looking into buying a cam (reground) for $120. Oh yeah do u know whether the ecu will work or not? Here's the site http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1
I understand. It isn't easy to do swaps. I know this. I was lucky to find someone who could lend me their gargae and tools. He charged me only $500 too.
Anyway, I doubt the chip will work since the chip is made for a DOHC motor. The only things the F22 and H23 share incommon are the crank and rods. Everything else is different.
Hopefully someone who knows for sure will chime in.
Good luck.

Alright thanks for the info. Maybe someone would know this answer, But for the swap they charge me around 1-2 grand i think that's excluding the motor which i found for $850 wanted to buy it but had to do other things. Oh well, but i want to do it legally not jdm so smog ref culd legalize it, than put jdm ecu after

Actually i was looking into that. I am looking into buying a eclipse turbo, and manifold it'll be cheaper that way too. How much you selling it for anyway?
HAHAHAHA, this thread went from chipping an F22, to saving for an H22, to turboing the F22, to swapping in an F22B, to turboing the F22B. LOL
This man needs an answer if an H23 chip will work on an F22 ECU.

Actually just to let you know... The H23 ECU will work in an F22..... I did it a week ago. All that it does however is drain more gas, i noticed very little power increase if any. Just thought i would let you know. Definetely not worth any cash or anything
Alright man thanks for the info. My car already is eating a **** load of gas. But for some reason it eats 76 gas the most (really) with premium 91 or regular 87 it just drinks it. Thanks for the info though. I had a feeling it'll work. Wait so is it worth buying the chip though? Or just another ebay scam?
Yeah, but i might as well buy the whole thing cause my motor has a lot of miles, so i might as well just buy the real thing, and with less miles too. But for now i'm sticking with it. Since i don't have much money. Especially since shcool is coming.
