I envy you. I would love to have a Ducati (hell, a bike in general). I just never got the nerve to get one. Other people are what scare me. I know many a person that's been hurt on them due to no fault of their own.
My personal choice would be a red 996.

you think ???? the only thing I like is the rear rim how the swingarm is on the left side only, clean.
I think the RR is one of the best bikes ever built.
Im partial though

Why would they get pissed? Its like saying a Ferrari 360 owner was pissed when his car was beaten at the drag strip by a gutted civic turbo or something...lol, in the end, the guy still gets to drive home the Ferrari.
Nice Duc...absolutely lovely bikes.

Do the 748s have maintanance issues like the new 749s and 999s do? About half the reviews I've read on the new ones say that they will never, ever buy one again. I was close to buying a 749, but all of that changed my mind.
My good friend has had a monster for quite some time...they can be problematic but typically, the people who have alot of problems with them are ones that dont do preventative maintenance properly or not at all...Ducati's (like most european things) need alot of TLC and a real good habit of keeping maintenance up 100% on time, if you can do this, they'll run just fine forever...my friends Monster has only had one problem, the headlight...and only because he did the projector retrofit with HID setup...
The problems I was hearing about were on brand new bikes. Some guys would get them home, and a week later, find coolant and/or oil leaks all over the garage floor. I think when I get a bike, it'll be the '06 R6. Just a toy for now. Later in life I'd like an MV Agusta, Duc, or maybe an Aprilia.

Ifyou didnt know. Ducatis are some of the most SLOW bikes in the 1/4. You should do some research on them. They are like the 360. Great bike but no *** but teh can take a curve way better then most. What kills me it that the 996 makes about te same power as a 600-750cc Jap bike??? I guess teh V twin cant beat the 4cyl. One more thing, about the spinning. I pulled a 1.9 60ft with stock gears, trans, diff, and tires. YES I was on S02s

LMAO cuz it has coolant and battery over flow hose in the bottom of the bike.. ducati's are kinda high maintenance though. you need to have the valve adjust in 3000 miles and the oil & filter are very expensive, lol which i dont mind.. 11 bux for a quart of 20w50 mobil one Vtwin oil and about 15 bux for the filter
... and the pipe gets really hott by ur nut area LOL . i wrap it with exhaust wrap already. but still kinda hot during long day of riding ... other than that, i LOVE it ... ders nothing compare to dry clutch

I guess those guys writing the reviews are retards, and they don't know anything about their bikes. I love Ducatis, but I'll be happy with a cheaper Japanese bike for now, just to ride, learn, and have fun on. Plus I'd like to ride it to work almost daily, so the cheaper maintanance costs will be nice. When I can just ride it on the weekends through some twisties(drag
) I will own an Italian bike.
