well it seems that my friend car was broken into last night and all they took was the face plate off his Alpine deck. I was wondering if he could just get a face plate off ebay, would it work? thanks guys.....

 

i beleive if you get the serial number..and prove that you bought the deck..you can call alpine and have them send you a replacement for a bit of money..i have bought a deck and had a friend with the same deck and the faces were interchangable..but it was a jvc..i dont know if alpine has a security feature

 

you can order a replacement faceplate from http://www.pacparts.com. you'll need to make sure you have the right model number. some of the faceplates are interchangeable, if they are from the same series, but unless you know for a fact, don't chance it.

alternatively, you can try ebay and hope you get lucky. and if you your buddy had a cde7859, let me know.

any alpine dealer can order you one, or pacparts, but it'll cost you anywhere from 125-175 .... depending on the model might not be worth it, I've had customers who lost their faceplates give me their radios (since they had no use for them and bought new ones) I patiently waited out Ebay and bought faces for all of them , never paying more than 35 shipped, if you doubt me call my mom, 2 of my brothers and a friend who now have cd players for the cost of a face....

as long as it's for the same model # it'll work.....

for example if it's a cde-9841 then any cde-9841 faceplate will work....
