how junked is to junked
well i have come across an Integra Ls that was deemed totalled. i wanted to jack the motor out of it, but was wondering about a couple things...
1. The trans mount on the passenger side (where the fender is) broke. the 2 bolts broke. so the motor and trans assembly is low in that area. Will this do any harm to the motor.
2. The car got hit in the front pretty good. the power steering pump pulley has either the frame or some other protecting bar pinned under it. i dont have power steerin in my 92 cx so i dont care but i wanted to know if affected the motor.
I checked the plugs they looked good. The oil level was a lil low so im gonna go drop of 2 qts in it to see if it leaks.
Thanks alot

As long as the trans casing isn't cracked, it should be fine. People have salvaged motors from much worse wrecks before. I'm assuming the 2 bolts that broke are the ones that go directly into the aluminum casing?
As for the PS pump thing, if it's a 90-93 teg, that bar could be the front rod for the suspention (doubt it, it's mounted very low), or 94+ it could be the front stablizer mount (5th mount).
Basicly, as long as there aren't any cracks, the trans/motor doesn't leak a noticable amount of fluid, and the motor passes a leakdown/compression test, it should be okay. The aluminum they use tends to crack rather than flex/dent.

ok i left out some info on the car...
its a 1996 integra LS, Automatic trans. I dont need the trans just the motor.
Where can i get a compression tester and how is it done?

for a compression test dont u have to have the car be able to run you just dont put any spark in the cylinder or is it fuel anyway the car cant be started. So does that leave only a leakdown test and how do u do that?
