Default RMF + SMSP Header Ground Clearance

Just wanted to know.. with the 4-1 or 4-2-1 setup have as much ground clearance as the other.. my car(5th Gen) is pretty low coz thats how I like it

So will i havta sacrifice either way??
Do both hang really low?

the "header" is actually well protected. You'd have to bottom out farely bad to hit the bottom piece. My front end is slammed and i have yet to hit it. Most of the times that i scrape, it hits the cat a tad then the midpipe of my n1 scrapes.

Here are a couple of pics of the header on the jig.

From the above shots you can see that the depth of of H22 sump is the problem. The only way you can get better ground clearance is to use smaller secondaries, i.e. like on a DC header.

My car is dropped 2 inch all around, still have plenty of room to clear speedbumps with SMSP.

can u do an undercar shot from behind like 98vtecs one VSBB6?

what about 3-4" all round.. isnt the lowest part of the car the cat anyway? so header should clear... cat will always hit/scrape something first?

Agreed. I don't see how people accept ANY scraping or rubbing during turns and bumps for the sake of looks.

Guys, if you drop over 2 inches, you are really screwing up the geometry of the suspension. Not that but your shocks will bottom out from lack of shock stroke.
