LS Fifth Gear? anyone have it?
In days gone by, people used to do that. Popular current convention is that, since you need to be able to get up to 140 quickly on tracks like VIR and Summit Point, that the LS fifth is not a good idea.
Maybe you should've left the 4.40 axle ratio in the first place.
The 4.78 is probably not the best idea for a car that's a daily driven commuter, but there are also people with the ATS 4.9 who daily drive, although probably not for your 90 miles.
I doubt you're hurting the motor as long as you take care of it normally. If you can't stand it, then you just can't...but it seems a shame to take a step back in performance.

I have the GSR 5th gear in my ITR and I love it...but... I am boosted and I still have the 4.4 final. GSR 5th drops about 400rpms. LS 5th would be too much I think.
