Default Re-Painting Calipers

My brake calipers are pretty dirty and nasty looking. I want to re-paint them however I want to have the color matched closest to OEM. I'm not looking for a red or anything.

What color and what kind of paint would best match the stock ITR color? I searched and alot of the pics are down. The ones that are up are various red/blue colors.

Cast grey is what I used a long time ago, It's all in the prep work and the paint will last, even with track temps
No pics tho...

Mix high temp silver and gold and brush it on to your cleaned calipers

how did it turn out? I would think spraying them would be less streaky than brushing them.

I had my calipers powder coated. They were supposed to be black but came back red.

Oh-well.

If they're dirty, why not just scrub them with a wire brush?

Mine looked practically brand new after bringing a wire brush to them.

Nobody has any pics? I've tried to scrub them before but it didn't do anything. I just want to clean them and paint them so they'll look pretty much new.

I just need to know what color to use.

I'd really like to see how they came out. What kind of paint was that?

I'm not interested in painting them black. I still want somewhat of a factory look. I like the way the brakes look through the wheels while the car's rolling. Especially if the calipers are nice and clean.

I like a clean OEM look also. I just painted the calipers on my Canadian-spec Type R silver. I used Folia Tec's brake lacquer.

Once salt has its way, the calipers will have brown and white spots. The factory coating is gone at that point. You have no choice but to paint, powder coat, etc. at that point if you want them to look decent.

I really like that. Do you have any other pics of the rears or so? Maybe a side shot?

Nice. You can get that at any Checkers or Autozone correct? I might just go down and take a look at some colors also. I'm liking the grey/silver type look so far.

a wire brush will not fix mine... the only way they will look nice again will be if they are replaced.

The original factory color is a cadmium plating. They make spray paint kits, but it's a several step process. I replaced my front rotors with OEM rebuilds, and now I have that factory *bling* once again.
