Well finally have the engine to the point I feel it is broken in enough. Put on about 2500km in the past 3 weeks and it is running strong.
Here are just a couple pics, taken by one of the spectators there.

This was the course.

Into a 3 cone slalom, if you can call it that.

Loading up from a hard left-hand sweeper...

Full on throttle FF drift from the same corner.
I did take some in-car video that I have to sort out and will post later if anybody is interested. The car just felt GREAT. I ended up being the fastest American which was kind of cool, because this is the first 'REAL' event I have entered and I won half my entrance fee back. The 3 other times I did gymkana was just for fun with friends of mine. This was done on my everyday street tires, I just ordered some Advan A048 GS2 (gymkana spec) that I will fit to my stock wheels and hopefully my times will improve greatly as compared to the cars on S tires, it appears I have alot of work to do. I was a whole 14 seconds down on the overall time leader, he was driving an EVO IX and was on S tires. The top FF car was an EK9 CTR, also on S tires and he had me by 9 seconds. I was just in the Challenge class (essentially Novice) which is open to any type of car and anything can be done to it. I ended up 5 seconds from first which I was happy about considering the first car was an EVO. Overall I finished the day 21st, but there were only 39 cars entered.

Chris (dc5rk20a) popped my cherry with my first gymkhana. at the end of the accuall event, during the fun run I got to ride along and wow, it was probably the most adreniline (sp) rush ride i have ever riddin. I still talk every night to my wife about it. I will be out there shortly.
Pics of this car just does not do justice.

post the vid chris. or at least get it to me on CD!

Sure do, Joe from Prototype Racing made one up for me, well not specially for me, but that is what I am using. Very nice setup in my opinion. Has a baffle box around the oil pickup with trap doors that open and close depending on which way the car is leaning.
I bought just a Hi8 camera the day before the event and I am waiting on this video editor thing I bought to plug the camera into it and then to a USB port on the PC. Hopefully today or tomorrow it arrives and then I can get to editing.
Junkyard Racer(Frank) came along for the fun run like he stated and I drove a little bit more recklessly, not as smooth, was actually just trying to give him a huge rush, I think I succeeded.
On the way home, he in-car filmed on the expressway, some of that I will include also. Unfortunately the only footage of my car is in-car and may possibly make you dizzy.
Not really as this course was far from windy and more of a high-speed setup.
About getting lost, it seriously looks more difficult than it is, at least to me. I kept playing the course over in my mind before the 2 timed runs. I still blew the first run, I immediately knew it as well, I went to the inside of a cone instead of out. Was so pissed at myself that I 2 hand slapped my helmet and called myself a DUMB ****
, but as I said I redeemed and ended up the fastest gai-jin. Though gymkana is alot different from auto-x as there are no pointer cones and a true layed out course, all memorization.

Must be nice, I havent seen any courses advertised around Yokota. I go to UpGarage and Parts Off - neither has any "events" advertised. I have seen a few drift events, but no Gymakana courses.
for the killer driving!
