Can a Rsx motor (base model) take the type S tranny?
Yes, but I think you need a Type-S clutch and flywheel or aftermarket Type-S application.
Search for klutchrsx on http://www.clubrsx.com He did that swap before.

I haven't looked at a base model block to see what the oilpan looks like, but the Type S tranny bolts directly to the oilpan. In changing to the Type S transmission you may have to use the Type S oilpan if it is indeed different.
might want to change flywheel on this one along with some aftermarket clutch components. as far as I know they do interchange.

Yuppers, especially useful if you've reprogrammed/reflashed the ECU to get a higher redline.
Or if you do a head swap, putting an A2 head on an A3 block.
My ideal tranny: '05+ RSX-S 1-5 & FD, TSX 6th, LSD (in short, the '06 Si's tranny)
