Miller people- Does this sound like a good deal?
I found an older (late 80's i think) Miller Dialarc 250 HF-P for sale. Looks like its in good condition. Includes cart, cooler, torch, both thumb and foot controls, and an argon regulator. All for about $1k Good deal or no?
It does pretty much everything except preflow and pulse. Here is a link to the owners manual: http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o315u_mil.pdf.
any help would be great. thanks!

Id say absolutely...especially with all of the extras it comes with! As most will tell you, and Engloid has stated NUMEROUS times...its usually better to find a nice used machine rather than buy a new one. You get MUCH more machine for the same or sometimes less money.

It never hearts to negotiate and see how low they'll go, but I say go for it. As already said, the extras make it very attractive. Also, the "old school" boat anchor type with the 8000lb transformer inside will last a lifetime. Yeah a new sexy inverter type is great, but this one will last forever and cost tons less.
Oh and if you really want the pulser you can always add one.

I would buy it.
EDIT: Read the owners manual well kinda i'm lazy so I skimmed it. The duty cycle was like 40%. There *might* be a better deal out there or you could just use that point in your negotiations on the price

I did not really read the manual. But a synchrowave 250 with all extra's , talking about water cooler torch and what not, was just sold on ebay for about 1,500 and it was brand new.
