CEL popped up about 3 weeks ago and brought it into aamco today to read the code. said the o2 is out? Brought it to a muffler shop to check my exhaust rattle, and they told me that the cat is out b/c it rattles. So my question is, if I were to change the cat to another OEM one, would it fix my CEL or would I have to replace both the cat and o2 sensor?

 

if the cat is clogged and has been for a while good chance your o2 is shot.. so id say replace em both... or the cheap but illegal way.. gut the cat... BUT if you have to have your car checked for emmisions dont do that replace it.

 

not sure if it's clogged or not. It does make some clanging/rattling noise when you move it though

 

what year is your car? the cat might be covered under warranty
