I just got my multipoint swap done on my 91 EF hatch and the motor smokes a bit so im looking to do a swap. As much as I like the B series engines, I really wanna see how far I can push a SOHC. So if anyone knows whether or not a D16 vtec head will fit a D17 block??? I would really appriciate it.

you can put the crank from the d17 in the d16. you just have to use the oil pump and rods from the d17...

hmm I thought you could, just the D17 is a bored over D....so the combustion chamber on the D16 would just raise the comp. ratio.... or is a D17 a stroked D16?

 

not that i know of there are a few people who have done this setup on h-t. I plan on getting the parts this winter to build my own....

 

d17 has the same bore--it just has a 94.4mm stroke--I personally don't think its the greatest idea to increase the already stroke on a d16--but to each his own.
