type r lsd in cable ls tranny? Anyone know about this?
I have an old ls cable tranny with an exploded diff. When I say exploded, I mean it put a hole in the case..Anyway, after I weld the stupid case back together, I want to make this tranny better than it was before. I can't afford a 'queef' though, so I was wondering if I could install a factory type r unit. I looked up the application numbers on the quaife site, and the gsr/type r has a different part number than the b16/ls application. Can anyone give me a definitive answer on this? I know you guys know this..

Are you certain of this?
Removing webbing won't be a problem, the old diff did a lot of that for me..

I know you have a cable trans, blah, blah. The diff. might fit, but the LS ring gear isn't going to fit the Type R LSD.
