5w-30 or 10w-30?
Which oil would be best for my 96 prelude h22? in the book it says to use 5w-30 but I heard it is more for the cold weather and it doesnt get that cold over here in San diego....and i heard people say they use 10w-30 in their h22....so which one would be the best to use??
how many miles are on your car? If you have quite a few (100,000 or more) i'd do the 10w-30. If it's less, I'd do the 5w-30. Oil viscosities are determined by the clearances you have to lubricate in the motor. Newer motors manufactured nowadays have tight clearances so they need light oil. The high mileage on your car would have worn your rings, cylinder walls, and bearings enough that 10w-30 won't hurt the gaps but will fill it to lubricate well.

yep, and it doesn't really matter once the oil gets up to temperature. they're the same viscosity when warm.
they're both recommended by honda.
