the only real way to get good power from a D series motor is to go turbo

If all you want is a little merging power a small TD04 is PERFECT. I finally got around to installing everything and got all of the kinks worked out.

It's perfect. Hits about 5psi at 2500 and at 3300 you're at 8psi. Great for merging.

I want to keep it N/A, possibly pistons from a D16a1. I have been interested in doing this for a while, but would like to see some dyno's first. BTW does anyone know where I could see these #s?

Thanks,
Justin

Honestly, Pistons aren't going to help you that much. You'll need to spend a wad of money to get power out of your NA d16.

That's a bummer, but i'm glad someone told me. I figured the increased CR would do the trick....like maybe 15 20hp would be nice. I'm gonna disconnect my PS, and maybe the A\C in the winter. It should help a bit.

Thanks,
Justin

That'll free up some power. You could also look into some more aggressive cams. Maybe a CAI and full exhaust w/ headers back.
