head bolts
i recently got a 91 integra ls for $400 the valves are bent all to hell on it but out of luck i have a spare head can i reuse the old head bolts its only tempary until i get the cash to get a b16 swap
It's not recommended, but yes you can use them (since it's only a temporary fix). I wouldn't run it for too long and I definitely wouldn't beat on the car.
well, i've heard it many times. "don't reuse stock head bolts." but i did it anyways b/c i was in a bind. i did use a new head gasket (bare minimum here) and a resurfaced head. it's been on there for a year, ~13,000 miles, and like a gazillion trips to redline even on the hottest days. it's also spent plenty of time without seeing <4000rpm. no issues. i am a little **** about these things so i did torque them down in 6 stages. i also never retightened after 500 miles like recommended. i am losing no coolant, but a little oil. it's a stock block with 183k miles that burned oil before, so i don't think that's relevant.
