will an under drive crank pulley wear out bearings???????
I don't trust them. I had one a couple of years ago and my crankshaft broke on a counterweight. Rebuilt the motor and now I have a spun bearing. I don't hotdog the car, just drove it normally. Now it's setting in my parents yard going to waste because I'm sick of it, need to get rid of it. I'm not saying the pulley caused it, just saying I don't trust them anymore. May just be coincidence.
theoretically yes. The aftermarket underdrive pulleys dont have harmonic dampeners and therfore do not get rid of damaging harmonics in the engine. I have known lots of people that have underdrive pulleys of this sort and have no problems so far. As I see it Honda engineers put it there for a reason. I run the Fluidampr underdrive which has a much more efficient harmonic dampener and has a underdrive altenator pulley on it
its the only crank underdrive pulley with a harmonic dampner that I am aware of for hondas. a fluidampr is basically a gel filled dampr that is designed to reduce harmonics throughout the entire rev range and not just a specific RPM like the stock honda ones due. if u want any more specifics might want to search google and find their site, and Endyne have a good right up on it I think. they go into detail about it.
as far as other aftermarket underdrives well AEM is the only one I would personally use. The reason is it still retains the stock crank pulley (hence keeping the harmonic dampner) and just changes the sizes of the altenator and power steering.

nope. if u want an underdrive pulley system get AEMs. they keep the stock crank pulley. Fluidamprs are pretty expensive.
Well i have a "bomz racing" underdrive pulley, looks the same as an orthodox also way cheaper, Just not stamped, but so far so good, my a/c still works the same. And it hasn't messed up my bearings, also my engine has like 165k miles on it.
Oh yeah my engine unfortunately is not an h22, is a f22. Dude just buy the damn thing, oh and you need to buy new belts, cause obviously they won't be the same size. Just buy the damn pulley.
