painting of RIMS
I own a red ef sedan, I currentaly have polished Aluminum 16" 6 stars... I was wondering on what color you think would be a good color of the rims, I have white trim in the int, and stuff. And what is the process, of painting them, do I have to take off the tire? Do I sand? Do I primer? do I use gloss or flat? do I clear coat after painting? White black bronze gunmetal? what brand of paint??
rusto coats heavy, but they have special cans of spray paint for painting cars/wheels at home improvement shops and car shops.
u can use the index card method and not have to take off ur tires.
theres a thread on here with pics and stuff. try the search.
"14eight" look for his past threads. he did em. and also "roaringturtle".
u can also deflate the tires a little so that u can cover the tires easier.
its not necessary to sand, but it can help...just more work.
primer...same deal.
just paint...let dry....paint.....let dry....etc...
u can clear coat it later, but if ur going for a flat look, then try to find a clear coat thats non glossy if they make such a thing. or just leave em and watch out when parking
im diggin black rims on red cars.IMO
good luck.
