i was wondering ...i am trying to avoid taking the manin crank pully off.....i loosened the timing tension pully bolt without taking the timing cover off...i readjusted the timing....i was wondering if i have to manual tightn the pully by hand or when i tightn the pully bolt will it auto tightn.......i have a helms service manual but it is not too clear.....check out pic below....basicly i need to know how to tightn the pully is what to boils down too

 

If its a newer belt you shouldn't have to put to much tension on the belt, but yes you want to make sure its holding the belt tight or its not doing any good. Hold it tight while you tighten down the tension bolt
