Default Car started burning Oil why??

I just purchased a 1995 integra LS 5spd, it has 152K on it but it purrs like a kitten and runs great, the only thing i've done to it is put on a short ram intake, today the car started burning oil, If I let it sit running for like 1/2 hour to an hour it bellows smoke out the tail pipe like crazy for a min then it calms down I do take it to redline occasionally and my brind was behind me and he said he saw a decent puff of smoke in the upper RPMS but not big enough for me to notice. I see no power loss at all and it still runs great, infact if i just start it up and go there is no smell of burning oil at all nor a notice of smoke. what could it be? and if it's something like rings how do i bring this up to the dealer that i have a 30 day warranty with?

not nescessarily when my headgasket went on my 91 CRX Si. I was still having full power up to the point that it blew. Take it to the dealer you aint got **** to worry about if its warrantied. By the way Im curious as to why you have EvilCamaroSS as your avatar and pic and your on a honda site. I thought all you guys hated imports?

rings would smoke all the time, check your coolant to see if there is any oil in it, check your oil to see if there is any coolant in it

thats ******* funny. I can't think of a single muscle guy around here who would be caught dead driving an import let alone an integra. They'd drive focus's and metros before they got a honda.

I wanted to ask one more thing, I read somewhere that if some kinda seal is bad oil can leak in from the valve cover to the spark plugs and cause it to burn oil that way too, is this common? how do i check for that?

pull off the valve cover and look at the seals, but that would not give you a sizeable amount of oil burn

valve sterm seal could be bad if smoke is the first thing in the morning but disappear afterward. Much cheaper than head gasket to fix but could still cost 1k easily with parts and labor (from what I heard).

I start it up and i dont see any smoke, I drive it and i dont see any smoke, I let it sit running for an hour and i see no smoke when i go to drive away after it's been sitting for an hour there is alot of smoke and when it's in the upper RPMs like 6-7K it lets a puff of blue smoke but other than that no smoke.

which is a symptom of a leaky head gasket, again check your coolant and oil for cross pollination

how do u check to see if u head gasket has a leak..??

swapped my car to stick.. and had a crazy idle.. fixed the idle with a new gasket around the head and intake manifold... the idle is fine now... but when i get on it.. above like 4k.. it blows out smoke... ive put about 2 quarts of oil in my car in the past week and half.. and filled about a half a gallon of colant cuz i started to over heat.. come to find out there was very little coolant in the radiator.

car has about 90 k on it.. 95 civic ex 1.6 vtec

I suggest returning that Integra to the dealer ASAP if it's still under warranty...otherwise you'll have to do somewhat of a rebuild fairly soon.

you just cant jump to that asumption, first off what color is the smoke>? and if you have it idle for like 30 mins and the smoke is blue it could be valve seal, or is its a white/steam it could just be condesation. easy way to tell if you losing colant is a sweet smelling think white smoke.
