Feeler gauge
I'd ask this in the Newbie forum but I need this answer SOON... I'm only going to have 4 hours to adjust my valves (never done it before) starting in 15 minutes. Now a feeler gauge is just that one thing you check your sparkplug gap with right? If so, can I just use that while adjusting the valves or should I get a different kind at the auto store? Thanks!
nope the spark plug gapper is for spark plugs.. a feeler guage is kind of like a swiss army knife.. where it has different blades of different thicknesses/sizes.. for your to adjust your valve clearance according to whatever thickness guage/blade you need... you can pick one up at any autoparts store.. i got mine at sears for like $10 or 15 i think (i forget it was a while ago) .. its angled..

I got one at AutoZone for about $3, the one w/ the most blades, and I just bent the ends of the size blades that I needed to check the valve clearances.
