I'm thinking you could use any damper from a auto parts store. I am wondering this same question about my rear dampers, they have gone to hell.

i thought so...as long as i measure right. the thing is that those things have been sitting FOREVER..i can't even compress it with my weigh so i'm scared my hood wont be heavy enough to close it

Tien makes some but I heard you're not suppose to use them with CF hoods cause of the pressure will eventually break the hood.

Yeah, it will probably be too much for a CF hood and crack it.

Why do you need one of those anyways? Too lazy to prop it up by hand?

the prop in my old prelude...back in the day.

it use to pop out of place and lay against my p.s pulley...make the most horrifying screetching noise ..then when i opened the hood sparks were flying.

why not get some blown hatch shocks? as i am sure blown ones could hold the weight of a CF hood? kinda ghetto fab but hey it might work
