its not the same because the TYPE R ecu dosn't have the secondaries.....soo when i get the new IM its only a single stage soo i think the type R will work alot better...i was just gunna get the ECU first then the IM soo i would be running with just the ECU for few weeks and wanted to know if i would get any gains form it..thanks for the links!

my buddy had that setup but with a header and exhaust, gsr ran 14.7's at the track and pulled a lot harder than my stock engine gsr, got to love the revs too

Ya go for it Rev that thing till It POPS then buy a new motor
THere is a reson that rev limiter is there, You need to balance your crank and lighten up the valvetrain Before you go Revving 2 9k

Kids think they car just pop an ecu in and Suddenly Their car has 20 more HP
You Pay To Play

RPM = Ruins Peoples Motors

The ITR has Special Lightweight valves and has been Designed by honda not some Backyard BOZO.
It will rev but It wont last

It will work and its good to have for the single stage vtec but just becuase the ecu lets you rev to 8700 doesnt mean your motor will!

Go ahead and get it but dont rev it any further than you could with your gsr ecu.
