Is the Z6 you have out of an automatic or manual car?

If it actually starts up then just dies a second later, that's a problem I had once too on my stock motor.

I was also noticing a distinct smell of fuel when I smelled around my injectors. This was because my injector O-rings were deteriorated. I replaced them and the fuel filter as well, and the problem went away.

I suggest you look into a fuel related issue as well, and replacing the O-rings and fuel filter is only like $15 of parts and one afternoon of tinkering.

Just a hunch, swap out your main relay and see if it still does it. I had a similar problem where my car would just die as I'm going down the road, I would stop and crank it over and it would start and run for 1-2 seconds and then die, if I tuened the key off and on a few times it would start and run fine til the next time. I just replaced my main relay and the problem went away.

BTW the main relay was fairly new too!
