Default No, I'm not joking: I'm kind of stumped.

So I've been working on this little 1992 Civic Sedan, automagic with about 80k on the clock (yeah I know...a virgin), D15B7 with good compression and new fuel parts.

Now, I put a new timing belt and water pump on this bitch about a week ago - nothing new - and it idles like a happy kitten. The timing light shows that the ignition timing is well within spec according to the timing cover and pulley markings and when I manually rotate the engine to TDC, all the lines are in their proper places.

The problem: When you get on it, the thing is sluggish as hell until a certain RPM or load point (no tach...******* shitbox) and then it seems to pep up and run like I thought it should in the first place. I know these little bastards are slow - even worse with an automagician - but there's something happening that's keeping it from running at 100% power delivery before that certain RPM.

Now, the spark plugs are brand new, the coil is putting out white spark, there's no irregularity in the pulses of the timing light when I do a check, the fuel filter is new, the axles are new, the timing belt and water pump are new and - not that it matters - the sound system is new .

WTF is causing this problem. There's an old woman who wants the car, but my father isn't content selling it to her with the addendum "it's kinda slow" and, thus, has made it my problem with the usual accompaniment of violence, threats of further violence, overt profanity in front of the neighbors and a general lack of interest in my happiness or well being. I'm sick as a ******* ***** right now and would like any feedback any of you fine, upstanding members might be able to toss my way.

I'd appreciate it .

So I just replaced the cap and rotor and it runs better, but it's still slow as ***. Perhaps it's because it only has - what - 72hp?

Now it's sold, lol. No longer my problem and the little old lady will never even notice.

Thanks, fellas
