Default Enine Swaps?

My friend has a nice 1992 Civic (american 1991 civic) sedan that has the standard ZC 1.6 DOHC. He wants more power but doesn't want to go forced induction.

Give me some ideas (frankenstein swaps) and what you need for them, and how difficult it would be.

The car has to handle well, not just for dragging..

I should add that this car came standard with the ZC motor and is a japanese spec car since we also drive right hand drive cars here (unlike the americans)...

is it worth putting the ZC head on a 1.8 bottom end?
