hey there - my g/f has a 89 civic dx sedan - k ill be driving it and every blue moon it will jolt and the check engine light will come on for a second then go off and everything i fine again - what the hell is that????? please lemme know thanxs

 

It would be easier if you could tell us what codes it throws.

 

how do i check what code it is - ecu?? - and will it still tell me what code if it hasnt happended recently??

 

1. Pull back the carpet on the passenger footwell.
2. There should be a metal plate with a little window on it.
3. Look at the window and count the number of flashes.
4. Example ...blink...blink...blink.........blink...blink...b link......... This would be code 3. #3 quick flashes then a pause and then it repeats. HTH
