Highway Driving= Oil Burn?
Today I drove back home from Purdue which is in Indiana, and I was able to maintain 85-95mph most of the way. Even on the h23 transmission that means pretty high rpm for sustained periods of time. I was wondering if this would lead to oil getting burnt.
I drove my H22A Accord from Satelite Beach, FL to Marion, VA (860 miles there and 860 back) doing 90 MPH (4K+ RPM) with the A/C on and never burned a drop of oil and it was as clear as when I changed it before I left...The engine was running at that RPM for 11 hours straight. I only stopped once for gas and a bite to eat....didn't have a single problem with it the whole way there and back...

yeah, theres so many things which cause oil burning.
First thing is the gaskets.
Valve, Oil Pan, tube seals, head gasket, and a few others.
next in engine internals, pistons rings etc....there could be so many things..

Well, I asked the question before I actually checked the oil
. Anyway, after 6hrs total of consistent 85mph+ driving, it looks like it didn't burn anything significant, knock on wood (it was exactly at the second dot on the dipstick before I left, now it is <~.15mm below it. Could be a slight incline). I should add that this is the OE motor and it has 69k miles on it.
