Rebuilding my brake calipers and decided to gie them a nice thorough clean while everything's apart. Besides cans and cans of brake cleaner, what can I soak the calipers in to remove the brake dust? Super clean is too corrosive and will etch the aluminum. Any other suggestions? Gasoline might help, haven't tried that yet.

 

I just used water and a wire brush. But, unless you have one of the more aggressive brushes, it won't clean off the crust.
