Default dyno my car...I think its kinda low :(

I dont know but I think my power is kinda of low: Here's what I made
177hp and 120ft lbs. Vtec crossover at 5500 and peak power @ 8700. Did about 20 runs I swear and felt so sorry for the motor. Tune by Tuner turbo@ Greensboro, NC using a dynojet

First run was about 143hp at xxx lbs of torque untuned. Final runs was 177hp @120ft lbs

-96 Jdm ITR / LSD
-Buddy club spec IV cams, gears, dual valve springs, and retainers
-Chipped p28 w/ hondata s200
-Skunk2 68mm throttle with skunk2 manifold
-B&M fuel pressure and guage
-DC headers 4-1 2.5 collector
-Rsr exhaust
-HKS filter
-rc 370cc injectors

sorry kinda blurry so bare with me....

177.68hp and 120.35 lbs of tq. Run conditions: 91.68 F, Humidity 32%

It defenitly feels faster(could be a state of mind) and stronger especially when vtec kicks. I mean it roars when the vtec switches over but still I think the numbers are low...The tuner guy said that the cat is robbing me about 7-8 hp and If i didnt have that, he thinks he could of gave me a final 180-183 hp. Keep me updated once you dyno yours....

post some of the itr numbers...

Do you have before/after mods dyno tests?

don't be so dissapointed about your dyno and do not compare it with other people dyno. unless they are there and dyno in the same condition you dyno in. temperature/humidity will affect the dyno output.
any dynameter tuner has the control to manupulate the magic # that is so coveted.. also a better comparsion would be a before and after dyno of modifications.

.

Don't compare to other's dyno runs. That dyno could read really low, or something else may be out of wack, who knows. Is it possible to have a bad leakdown but good compression?

A dyno is a tuning device, not a bragging device. Every dyno reads different. So numbers cannot be compared directly unless dynoed on the same day and conditions.

If you are unsatisfied with your engine output, try taking it to a different dyno and see if it makes a difference.

I saw a turboed b18c dyno 40hp more on the same dyno the next day, with absolutely nothing done with the car, due to air temp and humidity.

I may just dyno it on a different day when now the temps is getting a little cooler.

thanks for all the input guys

Like others have said, you cant go on the dyno numbers as theyre all different. I had my last car (JDM Si-VTEC) dyno'd at one place and it read 128whp and two days later with nothing changed on the motor i dyno'd at another place and it read 155whp!
The only way to compare is to have a before/after run or dyno on the same day as other like cars. My current 96spec ITR dyno'd at (213.8hp) 179whp and 150ft/lbs torque last year, the torque was definitley out but there were 10 other JDM ITRs there on the day and they all made between 195 and 220hp and between 140 and 150ft/lbs so i knew my motor was strong ( i only had i/e at the time) as some of the other cars had tuning and numerous bolt ons.

Seriously... car still needs more tuning. It shouldn't dip like that.

Anyone think that the car might be overcamm'ed for stock compression? and still needs proper tuning at least around vtec crossover?

second.

Set vtec low- make a run. Set it high- make a run. Place the 2 graphs over each other, and where the torque curves cross, set your point there. Looks to me like it's set too low now...almost a 15 lbs dip!!! Should be a gain, NOT a loss!

the person(mark) that tune my car tried various vtec crossover and he felt best at this engagement. He noticed that dip at 5500 and tune it a bit more to see if he can eliminate that but I personally think he got tired of tuning for we were tuning it for 4+ hrs. And plus I was afraid of the pricing that he was gonna charged for tuning so I was like lets call it a day........Ill probaly take it to RLZ in concord, NC for some more tuning...

Check to see how far P1 and Jack is from you. I'd just go there if I was in the middle of the east coast.

Dunno if this is totally correct but do those BCIV cams like more compression? I know most higher level/degree cams make better/more power when used along with higher comp pistons.

With USDM ITR compression and BC4's, VTEC should be closer to 6000rpms maybe even above 6k.

Other than that, the AFR's look fine. How much did he play with the camgears? If your tuner advanced the intake cam a bunch you could be bleeding off so much compression that the cams are just having a hard time breathing. These cams really shine closer to 12:1.

Seems like you made some good gains compared to your baseline, so I wouldn't be too worried about the actual numbers. You wouldn't happen to have a graph of the original baseline and the last run?

He didnt play much with the camgears...he adjusted the sprockets and the distributor and then most of the time he kept programming the chip to see where he likes it....thats about it. I didnt have the first run graph..he deleted it and printed me this one only.....I think I should of stuck with the bc3
